World Music Lab 🐸 SPEED MEETING
Speed meetings give you a moment — just one — to knock. But what happens next?
🌟 Hello!
Last week, I had the pleasure of being in Hungary for the 10th anniversary of Budapest Ritmo, a fantastic showcase festival that brings together inspiring people, meaningful conversations, and incredible music. The main venue — the House of Music — was truly something special. An open, inclusive space where music lives and breathes, welcoming everyone from school groups to families, elders and professionals. Honestly, every city should have a place like this.
One of my roles during the festival was to meet new talents and emerging artists who had signed up for speed meetings — short, 7 to 15-minute networking slots with music professionals like bookers, labels, programmers, A&Rs, and coaches. This gets always me thinking: What comes next for the artists? Speed meetings can get you to the doorstep, in front of the house. It can be challenging. Many artists freeze right there — unsure how to enter, and then move in. That’s where coaching can make all the difference: clarifying your artistic project, preparing your materials, and getting truly ready for opportunities in exposure, booking, and career growth.
🎯 Coaching for Independent Artists Who Are Serious About Growth
Here’s why coaching matters — and what most artists don’t realise:
A music career is a marathon, not a sprint.
Breakthroughs don’t happen overnight. Consistency, clarity, and support are what make long-term success possible. The music industry is crowded and complex.
With over 12 million artists on Spotify, just being talented isn’t enough. You need strategy, positioning, and visibility to stand out.You don’t need to be mainstream to succeed.
There is a niche for you. But discovering, reaching, and growing that audience takes time, planning, and focus. You’re not just an artist — you’re a business.
And the sooner you start operating like one, the sooner you’ll stop feeling overwhelmed, lost, or burnt out.Think smart: invest before you spend.
If you're willing to spend €1,000 to attend a showcase, ask yourself: Are you truly ready? That same budget could go toward coaching that prepares you — so your showcase becomes a launchpad, not just an expense.
A coach can set yourself up, speed up your career, help you get clarity on what it takes and how to take it.
Don’t just wait to be discovered. Get ready to be found.
